Adult Beagle Adoption

I have been contacted by a friend of a friend asking if I could help them find a good home for their 5 year old beagle, Merlin. They are a couple in their 50’s who are looking for a good home for their beloved beagle. It is absolutely agonizing for them to give him up but because of a very serious health issue, they can no longer care for him. They feel it’s not fair to Merlin, and would like to find him a home that will provide him with the same level of love and attention he is used to.
Merlin is perfectly healthy. He is all caught up on his shots except for his rabies vaccination, which the family will have done before he leaves. He is neutered, housebroken and gets along well with children and other animals. Like most beagles, he loves people and wants to please. He is not overly active in the home and does not chew on things. He loves going on walks, going to the park, and an occasional game of fetch. However, and this could be a deal breaker, he doesn’t always bring the ball back.......Smile He does have some anxiety when the family leaves the house, which I believe can be overcome through patience and understanding.
The family, who resides in West Milford, N.J., wants no money for Merlin. Their only concern is finding him a wonderful home. All his belongs (crate, bed, toys, etc.) will go with him when he leaves for his forever home. The family does want to interview anyone interested in adopting Merlin as they want to make sure he is going to the best possible home. Because you have previously contacted me through one of my puppy applications or you are part of my litter notification page, I thought you might be interested in this opportunity.
Please note: I have not met Merlin in person and am relaying the information given to me by his family. All inquiries or questions should be directed to the family, not me. The owner, Bob, can be reached at rbogedal@optonline.net or by phone... 973.506.4790.
Thanks,
Terry Stern
